Why remove a stump

Old stumps sprout suckers, attract carpenter ants and beetles, and can spread root rot to nearby trees. Grinding eliminates the visible wood and the upper root flare, clearing the way for new turf, a patio, or a fresh planting.

How stump grinding works

Our machine chips the stump into mulch several inches below the soil line. We can go deeper where you plan to replant or build. The resulting grindings can be left as mulch or hauled away, and we backfill the void so the ground sits level.
